MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 3RD MARCH 2026

Chairman’s opening remarks and Declarations of interest.
Janet Reid was co-opted onto the council after the recent vacancy and happily accepted the position as councillor. Declarations of Interest were completed and to be sent to CDC within 28 days as required.
Vice chair – Councillor Grimes was elected following proposals and accepted.

RESOLVED that the minutes be signed.
- Update from Ward Councillors
Potholes were reported to Councillor Jackson, but nothing has been repaired.
Grange Lane footpath is overgrown on the path and residents are having to walk on the road. Clerk to send Councillor Lawson details.
Anti-Social behaviour (cars driving around) had started again and reported.
- Matters arising from the minutes.
- Trees and branches were reported on Abbes Walk causing power lines to go out. Some trees look dead near Squirrel wood. Some trees have been cut further down the lane, but not the ones touching the cables.
RESOLVED to chase up
- Fly Tipping – on going. All have been reported.
- Flooding/Culverts – Ongoing works to start in April 26.

Bank statement & up to date accounts circulated
RESOLVED that the accounts be approved, cheques and bank statement signed.
Clerk attended SLCC Filca training and passed the qualification.
- Planning
Nothing to report.
200 + Houses in Skellow has been approved.
This will cause a knock in effect thru the village with more traffic.
Speeding and volume of traffic is already a problem with the village having narrow lanes especially near the war memorial.
- Correspondence
All Circulated and dealt with.
Anti-Social behaviour – Cars driving thru the village and parking at the woods was discussed. This has all been reported to the police but is still on going.
Great British Spring Clean event is scheduled for 14th & 21st March.
Doncaster council will supply all equipment. Councillor Welke to advertise on Facebook for volunteers. Clerk to register dates with Doncaster Council.
- Website
A discussion took place with regards to the website and any extra emails for a new .gov website. Quotes received.
RESOLVED to renew the website with Hugo Fox website on a bronze package. Clerk to liaise and help set up.

The next meeting to be held at The Burghwallis Public House commencing at 7pm.
