Burghwallis Website Gets Secure

In this day and age of hackers and nasty folk it is necessary to try and block their sticky fingers from messing about with a website.

A few years back a friendly lady or gentleman from Eastern Europe decided to trash our site, just because they could. We have rebuilt it twice since and now have upgraded it to have a secure socket layer, SSL. Don’t feel alone in understanding what this means but it does help to keep the bogans at bay. The address for the website has changed subtly it is now:-

https://www.burghwallis.org.uk

If you have a preset or bookmark loaded on your laptop, smartphone or tablet you need to edit the address to have the https prefix to make sure you come through the SSL ‘padlock’ – otherwise you may see a weird form of the website where everything appears in the wrong place.
