Chairman’s opening remarks and Declarations of interest

1. Apologies for absence

RESOLVED to accept absence.

• Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 13^th December 2022

RESOLVED that the minutes be signed. 

• Matters arising from the minutes.
• Abbes Walk – road surface is awaiting repairs to be completed.
• War Memorial –. Repairs now completed.
• Notice Board Repairs – A new backing for the board is needed plus outside repairs. Ongoing.
• Christmas Lights – The new solar lights work OK.  Recharging necessary every 2/3 days
• Defibrillator – Refresher course investigated.  However, step by step guide and instructions is on the machine itself.
• Bus Service – It was reported that the current bus service might be stopping.  Councillor Grimes is investigating.  There is a new timetable due to start on Monday, 30^th January, which is not clear. The current number of buses thru the village is a lot and complaints have been received regarding late nights and Sunday services.
• Tree Planting – Councillor Hudson will receive 100 trees for planting later in the spring.
• Newsletter – A Paris Council newsletter was discussed and suggested to be included and circulated with the church magazine.
• Litter Picking/Fly Tipping – A big problem in the village especially around Abbes Walk lately.

RESOLVED to contact DMBC and thank them for the help and prompt service but also help is needed with deterring this.

• Financial Matters

400411 £90 JM Scott – Playingfield cuts

400412 £37.80 J Halsall – Stationery

400413 £100 Church Magazine donation

RESOLVED that the accounts payable be approved and the cheques and bank statement signed.

£134 was paid in for the Christmas Lunch Raffle

Nothing to report.

• Correspondence

All circulated and dealt with accordingly.

Locality Feedback Request –completed by Chair on behalf of Councillors.

Any suggestions with regards to celebrating this year’s Coronation?

Nothing is planned.

• Website

Ongoing with updates and documents.

We are still waiting for a response from the developer regarding site visitor data and the recent query with current invoices.

• Next Meeting

The next meeting to be held at The Burghwallis Public House commencing at 7pm.
