MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2021

  • Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 24th August 2021

RESOLVED that the minutes be signed.

  • Matters arising from the minutes 
  • Playing field Park Repairs – Awaiting repairs when materials are available                                                                                                              Action: DMBC
  • Grange Lane Sign – awaiting renewal                                            Action: DMBC  
  • Speed Sign – 3 responses received out of 12 leaflet drops on Grange Lane.  2 objections.  Suggestions for a Village Meeting to discuss this further with requests to DMBC & Police to attend.  Speeding was discussed at great length with the Police and how to move forward.  They would help as much as possible, contacting DMBC for road signs and also in the village with a speed gun again when possible. No further action until the Police report back
  • Grit Bins – Refused by DMBC
  • Plaques for benches have been ordered and ready for collection and installation.
  • Environment Policy – RESOLVED one wasn’t currently needed
  • Financial Matters

400348 – £180 – JM Scott Playing field cuts

400349 – £420 – Clerk Salary July, Aug & Sept

400350 – £89.40 – HMRC

RESOLVED that the accounts payable be approved and the cheques and bank statement signed.

Data protection invoice has been received.  This is paid by direct debit to claim the rebate.

  • Playing field/Pinfold

Pinfold grass was long at the top, Councillor Mr Hudson said he would sort this.

It was reported that the wildflower area wasn’t thriving very well due to being covered over by trees, it was suggested a wildlife mix of seeds be planted. We should ask the grass cutting contractor to strim/cut the area.      Action: DM

  • Poor’s Field

No problems with the field reported.  Next rental payment is due in November.

  • Planning

21/02585/FUL – No objections raised.

  • Correspondence

Emails all circulated & dealt with accordingly.

  • Website

            All updated.

New Matters/Any Other Business                         

It was reported that a problem with motorbikes thru the village and down the bridle path.  This was being reported but getting no response.  This was a big problem in all areas, the police reported they cannot pursue due to it being too dangerous.

Remembrance Day:

It was reported it was too late to arrange a parade and road closure, this year the service would be in the park again at 1pm on 14th November 2021.  A wreath would be arranged and laid at the cenotaph.                                                 Action: RL

Christmas Arrangements:

  • Councillor Mr Hudson reported he would sort the Christmas tree out.  The Tree lighting and mince pie event would be arranged nearer the time after talking to the local Vicar.                                                Action: DH
  • Councillor Mrs Laming reported she needed to find out numbers for attendance at this year’s Christmas lunch.  Provisional date of 16th December.  This would be advertised in the church magazine.                   Action: JL

It was reported on the defibrillator that had been used recently.  Were new pads needed and any maintenance need doing?      Action: DM

The next meeting to be held at The Burghwallis Public House commencing at 7pm.
