Burghwallis Moves From Askern to Skellow Ward

The new boundaries commission have been reviewing in which ward Burghwallis will be represented. The Commission’s draft recommendations proposed that Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council should have 54 councillors in the future, nine fewer than the current arrangements. The recommendations also outline how those councillors should represent three single-member wards, six two-member wards and thirteen three-member wards across the borough.

The net effect to Burghwallis will be a realignment of the local government  ward in which we will be supported. Previously we were part of Askern Spa Ward. It is proposed that we move into the new Skellow ward, comprising of Burghwallis, Skellow, Owston and Sutton.

The full recommendations and detailed interactive maps are available on the Commission’s website at www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk and www.lgbce.org.uk. Hard copies of the Commission’s report and maps will also be available to view at council buildings and libraries.
