The advances of technology, people’s expectations and current trends have meant that our website needed a complete overhaul. The previous model has lasted five years, which is quite a feat in these days.
The new site has a much improved layout making it easier to find ’stuff’. One of the key features of the www.burghwallis.org.uk is the mass of historical data; now it will be easier to locate. Similarly all the parish council operations are now clearly visible.
We have always been especially proud of the Burghwallis website as, although it represents quite a small village, it can stand proudly alongside the much bigger players.
One of the advantages of the new site is that all the design and development has been done by one of our own village residents, Bharani of ParaV Software which means that any problems identified can be reported and resolved without resorting to “faceless techies” at the end of some international message stream. As some football fans sing: “We know who you are!”
Behind the scenes there have been a host of technical updates, tweaks and amendments to bring us in line with current practices. If you spot anything that is missing or a mite strange please contact us using the nice new button at the very top of the home page. It would be good to hear from you if you have any new views you feel the residents of Burghwallis would like to hear.
