Wednesday, December 6th saw our annual Burghwallis Senior Citizens’ Christmas Lunch take place in The Burghwallis Pub, where 27 meals were provided.
The meal was followed by the usual raffle – it seemed that there were more prizes than people present – we don’t think anyone went away empty-handed!
Many thanks to Sally and her staff at the pub for the preparation and serving of the meal – they even took part in the raffle, and took some of the pressies.

The next village event will be the Christmas Tree lighting at the war memorial on Saturday, 9th December at 6:30pm when we will sing a number of Christmas carols and then have the big switch on. We hope to see plenty of residents, children and visitors there. Wrap up warm so that you can be in full voice as lip syncing is frowned upon.
