Grange Lane Closure

We have received a notification from DMBC that Grange Lane will be closed from the junction with Sixrood Lane to the junction with The Abbe’s Walk from 08.00 on Monday, 22nd August until 18.00 on Friday, 26th August, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest. The short stretch of Old Village Street from Grange Lane to Well Lane will also be closed at the same time.

Apparently the closure is to allow for the installation of some new electrical connections. We presume that the closure will include night-times too. The residents of the stretch of road to be closed will be notified directly.

Please spread the word to any friends and neighbours who may be affected, particularly those who rely on the bus service, which, obviously, will not run through the village for the duration of the work.

It will also mean the speeding bogans that rip through the village may suffer withdrawal symptoms and need some counselling from local residents – as if! Enjoy the freedom – and walk down the middle of the road. Perhaps the guys digging the cable trench could be persuaded to leave a sizeable bump across the road……….
